A video showcasing life inside Charterhouse Lagos, one of Nigeria’s most costly private schools, has gone popular online after a kid recounted his daily experience in school.

The clip has prompted extensive reactions on social media, with many Nigerians responding to the school’s lavish facilities and exorbitant tuition fees.

In the popular video, the student, whose identity was not disclosed, provided viewers an insight inside his life as a boarding student.

He added that his day began with a visit to the school’s medical department after feeling poorly before heading to his physics session.

He later joined students for a test on static electricity in the physics laboratory, exhibiting portions of the school’s academic atmosphere.

The video also attracted attention to the school’s fee structure, which has been widely circulated online.

Reports show that pupils in lower schools may spend up to ₦23 million annually, while senior secondary students may pay as much as ₦35 million each year.

Additional charges such as application fees, reportedly over ₦2 million, and boarding fees ranging into millions annually have also been mentioned online, contributing to the online conversation.

The viral clip has garnered conflicting emotions, with many social media users expressing respect for the school’s facilities and premium learning atmosphere.

Others, however, utilised the time to emphasise the glaring imbalance in Nigeria’s education system, comparing elite private institutions with public schools suffering with little resources.

Charterhouse Lagos, which commenced operations in September 2024, offers both day and boarding education for elementary and secondary pupils.

The college is part of the global Charterhouse school network, noted for its British-style curriculum and exceptional academic standards.
