“Una Chop Witch?” – Woman Expresses Outrage as Teen Boys Allegedly Approach Older Women in Benin City

A woman has expressed surprise and frustration over what she described as the growing tendency of teenage boys to approach older women for romantic relationships in Benin City, Edo State.

The woman, whose reaction was captured in a viral video, questioned the behaviour of boys reportedly between the ages of 14 and 18, accusing some of them of disregarding age differences and showing little respect when approaching older women.

Reacting to the alleged encounters, she suggested that some of the boys had become unusually bold because they had access to small amounts of money.

In her words:

“All these small, small children, young, young boys, 13, 14, 15, 16 to 18 years, una chop witch? Na question I come ask una, una chop witch?

“Because una don dey see small, small change, una no dey know senior again. Very mannerless set of children. Una chop witch? Na him I want know, una chop witch?

“Wey be say, una see who senior you, wey be say them and your mama dey drag age. You look the person, you go cross her.

“Me God punish one, make one enter my trap. You go chop am wotowoto. Nonsense.”

Her comments reflected her displeasure with what she perceived as a lack of respect for older women among some younger boys who approach them romantically.

The video has generated mixed reactions on social media. While some users criticised the alleged behaviour and questioned the confidence of teenagers approaching significantly older women, others argued that younger men expressing interest in older women should not automatically be considered disrespectful.

The incident has also prompted discussions about age differences in relationships, respect for personal boundaries and the influence of money on how young people approach romantic interests.
