Following the crash of two drones in Finland’s south, Ukraine apologized to Finland, claiming that Russian intervention had probably caused them to veer off course. The incident was inadvertent, according to Georgiy Tykhy, a spokesman for Ukraine’s foreign ministry.

“Under no circumstances were any Ukrainian drones directed toward Finland. The most likely cause is interference from Russian electronic warfare systems. We have already apologised to the Finnish side for this incident,” he told reporters.

Finnish authorities responded by sending a fighter jet to evaluate the situation after the drones landed close to Kouvola. One drone fell north of Kouvola, while another landed east of the city, according to the Finnish Defense Ministry.
