Two Nigerian Big Boys Extradited to U.S. Over Alleged Child Exploitation and Sextortion of Two Teenage Boys

Two Nigerian men, Mudashiru Afeez Olawale and Adebola Festus Adekunle, have been extradited to the United States to face prosecution over alleged s£xual expl0itation and s£xtortion of two teenage boys.

The Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) facilitated their extradition on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, following separate investigations by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

According to the EFCC, the suspects were allegedly involved in s£xtortion schemes targeting male minors, particularly boys aged between 13 and 17. The schemes reportedly involved using Child S£xual Abuse Material (CSAM) to bl@ckmail victims and demand money through money remitters, gift cards and cryptocurrency.

The FBI linked the suspects to two separate cases involving American teenagers who died by s¥icide after allegedly being subjected to online s£xual expl0itation and ext0rtion.

In one case, a 13-year-old boy reportedly received an Instagram message from a person who suggested exchanging n¥de photographs. The suspect allegedly threatened to distribute the boy’s pictures to his contacts unless he paid money. Investigators said the communication continued even after the minor indicated that he intended to take his own life.

The FBI later identified individuals allegedly connected to the scheme and sought the EFCC’s assistance. Following investigations, Adekunle was arrested and brought before the Commission.

Olawale was also wanted in the U.S. on a seven-count charge, including alleged s£xual expl0itation of a minor resulting in death, enticement of a minor for sexual activity, threatening communications and distribution of child porn0graphy.

His extradition was initially rejected by the Federal High Court in Lagos in June 2024. However, the Court of Appeal overturned the decision on July 7, 2026, paving the way for his extradition.
