The pilot’s F-15 jet was reportedly brought down by a missile over rugged mountains in Iran, leaving the airman stranded for over 24 hours.

Trump revealed that when they first got a message from the pilot, US officials were very scared. They feared it was a trap or a “trick” by Iranian forces to lure American soldiers into a deadly ambush. Many Nigerians who follow international news have expressed shock at how close the situation came to a major disaster.

“Thousands of these savages were hunting him down,” Trump stated, describing the terrifying moment US special forces had to move in. About 200 troops were sent on the high-risk mission to bring the boy home before he could be captured.
