The United States has announced a reward of up to $10 million for information and the head of five senior Iranian Revolutionary Guard commanders.

The move comes as Washington continues confronting Tehran over attacks, military activities and alleged threats against American interests.

According to Al Jazeera on Tuesday, 25 August, 2026, senior IRGC commanders have remained central to Iran’s military strategy during the prolonged confrontation with Washington.

The US State Department’s Rewards for Justice programme says the bounty targets key leaders responsible for directing important IRGC branches.

Those named include IRGC Commander Ahmad Vahidi, Khatam al-Anbiya Chief Ali Abdollahi and Drone Unit Chief Saeed Aghajani.

The list also includes Cyber Command Chief Hamidreza Lashgarian and Intelligence Chief Majid Khademi, according to the reward announcement.

Washington alleges that the commanders lead units involved in attacks targeting American personnel and critical infrastructure through cyber operations.

The Rewards for Justice programme says the IRGC directs various components involved in activities that Washington considers threats to US interests.

The announcement places particular attention on Iran’s military and security leadership as tensions between Tehran and Washington remain elevated.

Ahmad Vahidi has emerged as one of Iran’s most influential military figures, taking command of the IRGC during an especially dangerous period.

Ali Abdollahi, meanwhile, heads the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters and has publicly warned about possible American military actions.

He previously warned that continued US pressure around the Strait of Hormuz could threaten the fragile pause in fighting.

The bounty therefore represents more than a financial offer, signalling Washington’s continued effort to identify and pressure Iran’s security establishment.

The United States says information leading to the identification or location of the targeted commanders could qualify for the substantial reward.

The announcement comes after months of confrontation in which Iranian military leaders have repeatedly signalled readiness to continue resisting American pressure.

Al Jazeera has reported that remaining IRGC commanders continue playing influential roles in determining Tehran’s military and negotiating positions.
