Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has acknowledged that he does not always agree with US President Donald Trump on key security matters, but insists that he remains committed to protecting Israel’s national interests regardless of external pressure.

Speaking during a press conference with Israeli journalists, Netanyahu addressed growing concerns about reports of disagreements between Jerusalem and Washington over military actions involving Iran and Hezbollah.

According to Times of Israel, he emphasized that while Israel and the United States often share common goals, there are occasions when their positions differ.

“Many times we see eye to eye, and there are also cases in which we see less eye to eye,” Netanyahu said.

“I am responsible for Israel’s security interests, and I stand up for them.”

The prime minister declined to answer directly when asked whether Israel would be prepared to carry out military operations against Iran or Hezbollah without American approval.

However, he stressed that his government would continue to prioritize Israel’s security needs in all discussions with the United States.

Netanyahu also appeared to respond to criticism from political rivals who have questioned his handling of relations with Washington.

According to him, defending Israel’s interests requires more than strong public statements or political rhetoric.

He argued that effective leadership demands extensive experience, strategic judgment, and a deep understanding of the American political system.

Netanyahu maintained that managing relations with the White House requires wisdom and careful diplomacy, particularly during periods of disagreement.

“One must stand up for our security interests wisely,” he said, adding that experience plays a crucial role in navigating complex international relationships.

His remarks come amid reports of tensions between the Trump administration and the Israeli government over regional security issues, including Iran’s nuclear ambitions and Israel’s military freedom of action against Hezbollah.

Despite those differences, Netanyahu insisted that he remains firm whenever Israel’s security interests are at stake.
