Toyin Abraham has reacted after comedian Bovi Ugboma recreated her viral awkward moment with fellow actress Funke Akindele during the 2026 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.

While co-hosting the ceremony alongside South African actress Nomzamo Mbatha, Bovi performed a comedy skit referencing the widely discussed incident from the premiere of The Return of Arinze.

In the skit, Nomzamo acted as Funke Akindele while Bovi humorously played the role of Toyin Abraham, recreating the awkward greeting moment that had previously gone viral online.

The joke drew laughter from the audience, including Toyin herself, who was later seen in a viral clip laughing and chatting with Bovi during the event. According to Toyin, she already expected the comedian to turn the situation into a joke.

The original incident happened during the premiere of a movie by Iyabo Ojo, where Funke Akindele appeared to ignore Toyin Abraham’s greeting while seated alongside Mercy Aigbe and Iyabo Ojo.

The clip sparked massive reactions online at the time, with many social media users describing the moment as awkward and embarrassing.

Following the incident, Toyin openly expressed her displeasure, stating that she would no longer greet Funke Akindele and revealing that she had unfollowed her on social media.
