Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has thrown his weight behind President Bola Tinubu’s administration, saying the government is working hard to fix the problems it met on ground.
Speaking on Talk To B, the podcast hosted by actress Biola Adebayo, Kosoko called on Nigerians to reflect on how the country was before Tinubu assumed office.
“Things are not as bad as some people have claimed and they need to understand. Go and check the majority of those people. Before Tinubu came, what were they eating?” he said.
When asked what ordinary Nigerians could point to as proof that the President is fixing the country, the actor maintained that the administration is making efforts to address existing problems.
He highlighted the government’s student loan scheme as one of its key initiatives and encouraged beneficiaries to share how the programme has helped them.
Kosoko added that the government had also promised to provide support for graduates who are unable to secure jobs immediately after completing their studies.
“Such initiatives deserved public attention,” he said.
The actor, who said he has been involved in politics since 1978, argued that political interests sometimes stop Nigerians from acknowledging what they see as progress under an administration.
According to him, some Nigerians know the truth about the administration but allow their political biases to shape their opinions.
“Those in the opposition know the truth. They know that the man is on the right track, but ambition is affecting their thinking,” Jide Kosoko said.
