"The first time I saw ₦200k..." — Lady recounts how she made her first ₦200k

A Nigerian lady shared her personal financial journey and small wins that shaped her progress, sparking widespread reactions online.

The lady shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, how she earned her first ₦200,000 through a traditional savings scheme known as ajo.

In her post, she explained that the milestone was reached in 2019 after months of discipline and consistency.

Despite earning ₦45,000 monthly, she committed to contributing ₦20,000 per month for eight months.

According to her, seeing ₦200,000 in her bank account for the first time felt unreal and overwhelming.

She wrote: “The first time I saw 200k at once in my account was in 2019, and it was ajo, after 8 months of contributing 20k out of my 45k salary. Happiness wanted to kill me😂😂.”

The lady further shared that her financial growth was gradual, as she did not see ₦500,000 in her account until three years later.

She said the moment finally came in 2022, marking another major milestone in her journey.

Describing how much the achievement meant to her, she explained that she went straight to the bank to deposit the money and kept several photos of the receipt as a reminder.

She added: “Up until 2022, I had never seen 500k inside my account before. The day I made my first 500k, I went to deposit it in the bank, I took so many pictures of the receipt to remember.”

The post ended on an encouraging note, as she reassured others who may be struggling financially that progress takes time.

She concluded by saying: “Better days ahead everyone, it does get better.”

Her story has since attracted praise, with many social media users describing it as relatable, inspiring, and a reminder that consistency and patience can lead to growth over time.
