A Nigerian lady has sparked conversation online after sharing her thoughts on modern dating, claiming that the country’s economic situation is changing how many men approach relationships.

Speaking in a video circulating on social media, she revealed that she has been single for four years despite receiving advances from men.

According to her, most of the men who approach her are either married or significantly older, while younger men often suggest casual arrangements instead of serious relationships.

She said she initially believed something was wrong with her and even sought prayers before concluding that many people, especially men, are struggling under the current economic realities.

“I’ve been single for 4 good years now. I won’t say men don’t approach me, but the type of men that approach me are people’s husbands. Married men, older men. And I’m like, what’s going on? I’m just in my twenties,” she said.

She added that many younger men no longer seem interested in commitment.

“Even the young ones that are coming to me, they’re like, ‘See, let’s just do business.’ Nobody wants to be committed again.”

The lady further claimed that the economy has affected people’s attitudes toward relationships, making it increasingly difficult to find partners who are ready for long-term commitment.

“The economy is really messing up with people. It takes the grace of God to see a good man now,” she added.

Her remarks have since generated mixed reactions online, with some agreeing that economic hardship has influenced dating and relationships, while others argued that commitment depends more on individual values than financial circumstances.
