A Nigerian guy has ignited debate online after posting his thoughts on dating expenses and where men should take their partners on trips.
In a video posted on X (previously Twitter), he recommended men not to take their ladies to costly restaurants, arguing that local “Bukkas” are more economical and practical.
In his words, he said:
“Bukka is better than restaurant, stop taking your girlfriend to restaurant and send 15k but here you will spend only 4k. All the girls in my life I take them to Bukka.
All those girls are not worth spending your money on. You meet a girl today, you’re spending 40k on her.”
He believes that spending money on restaurant dates is pointless when there are cheaper alternatives available, such as local restaurants.
His statement has provoked a range of reactions online, with many social media users criticising his views on relationships and expenditure, while others claimed that dating expenses should be determined by individual financial capability and preferences.
One user wrote, “Bukka or restaurant, if she likes you she go follow you go anywhere 😂.” Another added, “Na why some men no dey enjoy relationship, everything na calculation.
