A man who insisted that a man cannot genuinely call himself macho if he does not financially support his girlfriend or wife has caused controversy on the internet.
He underlined the need of men paying for all expenses once they are financially capable in a video that has gone viral.
“You can’t call yourself a man if you’re not paying for everything. Yes, you pay for the date, you pay for the trip, her meals, her nails, her hair. Men who don’t like to hear this are not men. It’s not just about paying for dates or food, it’s about providing for everything. If you have it, provide,” he said.
He continued by saying that before starting a relationship, guys who are not yet financially secure should concentrate on improving themselves, saving money, and developing themselves.
“If you don’t have it, you should not be dating. Work on getting your account right, improving yourself. But if you have your life together, you should provide. A girlfriend or wife should not worry financially,” he emphasised.
On social media, the message has elicited conflicting responses. Some have defended the notion that provision is a component of masculinity, while others have deemed it antiquated and impractical in contemporary relationships.
