“She’s not a witch” – Angela Okorie breaks silence following release, tender apology to Mercy Johnson

Angela Okorie, a Nollywood singer and actress, has issued a heartfelt public apologies to her colleague Mercy Johnson following their recent feud.

It should be noted that Angela was detained at her home by the Nigeria Police Force Cybercrime Centre in Abuja on Wednesday, January 28, in connection with cybercrime claims against Mercy Johnson.

She was eventually released from the Suleja Correctional Centre in Niger State.

After pledging to resolve the problem, the actress followed her word, posting a video on her Instagram page in which she passionately apologised to Mercy Johnson.

In the video, Angela stated that she is not a flawless person, which is why she chose to apologise.

“I just want to apologise to you, if it’s just my words, I am deeply sorry. You’re not a witch; you aren’t what people are calling you. This is to say ‘I am sorry’,” she said.

She claimed that she had heard various terrible stories about Mercy Johnson, sometimes known as MJ, which influenced her sentiments and behaviour towards the actress.

Angela also disclosed that people were equally disparaging her and Mercy Johnson, which she claimed contributed significantly to the pandemonium between them.

The actress stated that at this point in her life, she prefers to focus on her professional and personal development over controversy and disputes.

According to her, she had already communicated with Mercy Johnson through another colleague and apologised privately, which Mercy Johnson accepted fully. The apology elicited mixed views online.

While some applauded Angela Okorie for accepting responsibility and openly apologised, others said the damage was already occurred.

Many hope that this public apology will finally put an end to the long-running feud between the two stars.
