A lady has sparked widespread reactions online after a social media user claimed that many women who say “let’s break up” do not actually intend for the relationship to end.

The statement, which has circulated across various social media platforms, suggested that some women make such remarks as a way of seeking reassurance, emotional validation, and affection from their partners rather than genuinely wanting a separation.

The opinion quickly triggered debates among Nigerians online, with many users divided over communication styles in relationships.

While some people agreed with the claim and described it as emotionally realistic, others argued that relationships should be based on honesty and open communication rather than emotional games or manipulation.

According to the viral statement, women often expect emotional reactions and reassurance from their partners whenever they bring up the idea of ending a relationship.

“If a woman tells you ‘let’s break up,’ she is not expecting you to say ‘okay.’ She is expecting you to beg her. She is expecting you to say, ‘Oh! You are the love of my life. I can’t do without you,’” the statement read.
