“She reported her husband to the Home Office for…” – Man recounts how family’s UK dream ended in deportation

A Nigerian man has generated outrage online after describing how a family’s ambition of transferring to the United Kingdom (UK) purportedly ended in deportation due to a severe marital quarrel between a husband and wife.

The father, named as Tobore, sold his houses and lands in Nigeria and borrowed over ₦20 million to migrate his wife, Funke, and their three children to the UK.

He said that the marriage deteriorated after Funke realised that her husband was still talking with a lady thought to be his previous lover in Nigeria.

“She reported him to the Home Office after their issues, not knowing that he had already revealed a secret about one of the children they took to the UK,” the narrator claimed.

He further claimed that after the report was submitted, Tobore notified the UK Home Office that one of the children they travelled with was not biologically their own. According to him, the disclosure prompted immigration officers to request a DNA test.

The narrator also stated that the DNA test revealed that the infant was not biologically connected to either Tobore or Funke, which he said damaged the family’s immigration status and finally led to their expulsion.

“Imagine borrowing over ₦20 million, selling properties to take your family abroad, and within one year, everything ends because of a marital crisis,” he added.

The tale has elicited conflicting comments on social media, with some users condemning the couple for their management of marital troubles, while others saw it as a heartbreaking reminder of the need of resolving disputes peacefully.
