A lady has stirred passionate emotions on social media after admitting that she has been left to care for her roommate’s three-month-old infant alone after the child’s mother vanished without notice.

According to the woman, her flatmate became pregnant last year, but the man responsible denied it and cut off communication. The expecting mother chose not to inform her family about the pregnancy for fear of their reaction.

The woman claimed that she became her roommate’s primary source of support throughout the pregnancy, paying household bills, purchasing food, and taking on other chores after her friend stopped working.

The woman said, “I honestly don’t know what to do anymore, and I’m completely overwhelmed.”

She revealed that her flatmate had given birth to a baby girl nine months later, and she continued to care for both mother and kid. However, she stated that everything changed when her flatmate abruptly vanished, leaving the infant behind.

Later, she added, “Then, a few weeks ago, she disappeared without warning and left her three-month-old baby with me.”

The woman further stated, “I’ve had to lie to my employer that I was seriously ill just so I could stay home and take care of a baby I didn’t give birth to.”

The poignant account elicited broad replies, with many users sympathising with the mother and pushing her to contact the baby’s relatives or the proper authorities to ensure the child’s well-being.

Others applauded her kindness, but emphasised that she should not bear the duty alone, especially as the issue has began to compromise her employment, income, and emotional well-being.
