A woman has generated outrage online after posting her unexpected and humorous experience in the birthing ward.
Christine Rael Watawa shared the story on Facebook, recounting the drama surrounding her birthing.
Christine stated that she arrived at the labour ward with severe contractions but entirely forgot she needed to remove her dress before delivery began.
“I was having serious contractions when I arrived at the labour ward, but forgot that I needed to take off my dress before delivery commences.”
Christine was still completely clothed when the nurse came to check on her progress. The nurse was apparently irritated.
Mrembo, why are you still with your clothes, it’s like you are not even ready to have this child. I turned and lifted my clothes a bit and hung them a little above my before the nurse came back. Msichana muoga, it is your 🍑 I want to check and not your thighs. Hurry before my shift ends,” she stated.
Christine indicated that she was hesitant to cooperate since her husband had told her not to speak to anyone unless he was present.
At the time, he had gone out to get something, leaving her to deal with the matter alone.
“I told her that my husband has told me not to talk to anyone if he is not around .”
Despite her initial hesitancy, she removed her clothes when actual labour intensified and wore the hospital gown.
Christine wrote: “I still managed to remove my clothes and undies reluctantly and wore my dera… when real labour came in, I threw everything away and was walking around naked writhing in pain.”
She also revealed that a male doctor attended to her, adding to the embarrassment.
“Shame became my helmet. If you are in labor and still mentioning Jesus in English, there is nothing you can tell me. I prayed in Luo and promised God never to do that nonsense again.
God bless all mothers,” she added.
