“Seun provoked him?” – Video of Femi Kuti talking about Wizkid goes viral amid brother feud

A video of Fela Anikulapo-Kuti’s first son, Femi Kuti, speaking about Grammy-winning singer Wizkid amid widespread criticism on social media has gone viral.

The video has resurfaced amid an ongoing conflict between Wizkid and Femi’s younger brother, Seun Kuti, over purported parallels to their late father.

The exchange has divided fans online, resulting in debates and huge reactions on social media.

In the video, Femi described Wizkid as someone very close to his family and vastly different from how he is frequently depicted online.

Femi emphasised Wizkid’s ongoing support for Felabration, an annual music festival in memory of Fela Kuti.

According to Femi, Wizkid has always respected Fela’s heritage and is devoted to upholding it.

Femi also addressed the anger and abuse that Wizkid regularly receives on social media.

He suggested that many critics evaluate the musician without genuinely knowing him, pointing out that the public perception of Wizkid differs from the private guy he knows.

To refute charges that Wizkid is arrogant or rude, Femi emphasised that character should not be determined simply on online comments or sensational headlines.

In his words read what he said below:

“Wizkid is like a family to me. Except if he’s not in the country. He’ll honour ‘Felabration’—he always shows up. When I see people commenting about him on social media, they don’t really know Wizkid. The Wizkid I know is very nice and humble. People don’t just understand what it means to have so many people shouting your name and expecting so much from you. The pressure is too much, the pressure on someone who has been at the top for so long is a lot, and I think he’s handling it very well.”
