According to a report by the Telegraph on X, on Monday, May 18, 2026, Iran is weighing a dramatic escalation in its confrontation with the United States and Israel.
According to reports, the Iranian parliament is drafting legislation that would authorize a €50 million reward for the assassination of Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu.
The move comes in response to the February 28 strike that killed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader.
Ebrahim Azizi, chairman of Iran’s national security commission, confirmed that the bill titled “Reciprocal Action by the Military and Security Forces of the Islamic Republic,” is being prepared for a vote.
He declared that Trump, Netanyahu, and Admiral Brad Cooper of US Central Command must face confrontation and reciprocal action.
Another lawmaker, Mahmoud Nabavian, went further, announcing that parliament would soon vote on rewards for whoever “sends Mr Trump and Netanyahu to hell.”
The proposed bounty marks a significant shift, previous threats against Trump and Israeli leaders were largely issued through fatwas or propaganda campaigns.
This legislation would formalize assassination calls into parliamentary law, signaling a dangerous new phase in Iran’s strategy.
The United States has already responded with warnings, Trump previously stated that if Iran attempted to act on death threats, Washington would issue very strict orders to wipe them off the face of the Earth.
The rhetoric underscores the risk of escalation if Iran proceeds with the measure.
Meanwhile, Iranian officials claim threats have also been made against Mojtaba Khamenei, the current supreme leader.
They warn that if military attacks on Iran resume, the response will be devastating.
This report highlights the fragile state of relations in the region, If passed, the bounty legislation could push tensions to unprecedented levels, raising fears of retaliatory violence and destabilization.
