A Nigerian lady has sparked debate online after giving her thoughts on how men and women handle respect, particularly in relationships and weddings.
According to her, men respect boundaries more, especially when it comes to married women, but women, in her opinion, are more ready to entertain or approach married men.

“Men respect men more than women respect women in marriage; men don’t tend to move to married women the way women tend to entertain or move to married men. Respect holds no value among women.”
She went on to dispute prevalent narratives that characterise males as selfish, noting that women engage in comparable behaviours but frequently evade accountability.
The lady stated that, while both genders have shortcomings, she believes males are more respectful than women.
“Everyone is out for themselves. We love to say, ‘oooh, men are selfish, men are this.’ Women are the selfish ones, and they are those things they say men are. With men, respect holds more among them, and I will give them that,” she added.
Her statement elicited varied reactions online; some agreed with her, while others strongly disagreed, stating that respect and loyalty are determined by individuals rather than gender.
