Pope Leo XIV bashes Trump’s war on Iran as he calls it a ‘scandal’ to humanity

Pope Leo XIV discussed the situation in the Middle East during his weekly Angelus prayer in St. Peter’s Square.

Pope Leo XIV addressed the Middle East crisis while reciting the Angelus to thousands of pilgrims in St. Peter’s Square.

He stated that the death and suffering have caused a “scandal to the entire human family.” He then renewed his call for an immediate ceasefire.

“We cannot remain silent in the face of the suffering of so many people, the defenseless victims of these conflicts. What hurts them hurts the whole of humanity,” Leo said at his weekly Angelus prayer in St. Peter’s Square.

Pope Leo warned that the pain, de@th, and suffering brought about by these wars “are a scandal to the entire human family and a cry before God.” He then encouraged everyone to persevere in their prayer so that “hostilities may cease and paths of peace, based on sincere dialogue and respect for the dignity of every human being, may finally open.”

He added: “I strongly renew my appeal for us to persevere in prayer, so that hostilities may cease and the way may finally be paved for peace.”
