A police officer attached to the Hotoro Division, identified as Sani Isah, has reportedly been k!lled during a clash involving rival thugs in Kano State, just weeks before his planned retirement.

According to a source who spoke to Daily Trust, the officer was deployed alongside other personnel to disperse fighting groups when he was allegedly shot by one of the hoodlums using a locally made dane gun. The source said the officer was rushed to the hospital, where he was later confirmed d3ad.

The late officer, who reportedly served in the police force for more than 30 years, was described as a respected member of his community who contributed positively to society. The source added that he was only a few weeks away from retirement at the time of the incident.

Kano State has recently witnessed renewed clashes linked to thuggery in several parts of the city, including areas such as Fagge, Abattoir Market, Koki, Kurnar Asabe, Hotoro, and Gyadi-Gyadi.
