Following the death of famed motorcyclist Kola Onifoto, a communication between him and his mother has surfaced online.
Kola Onifoto’s death has sparked outpourings of sorrow and tributes on social media.
The biker died on March 2, 2026, from a motorbike accident in Lagos.
He was 32 years old and on his first solo bike journey outside of Lagos, travelling to Akure.
Nigerians have discovered a WhatsApp communication between Kola Onifoto and his mother, which was put on his Facebook page on February 24, 2025.
During the conversation, his mother advised him to be cautious of the son he had become.

”Good morning, hope you are okay?. Hope you are okay please be careful always remember the son of whom you are,”
Kola said, ‘Motigbo’ (I heard you), recognising his mother’s admonition.
Kola has a diverse career as an Uber driver, naval officer, and writer.
He was passionate about biking and had lately fulfilled his dream of becoming a biker by posting a photo of himself with his new motorbike on social media.
Kola was known for his adventurous spirit and dedication to helping people.
