The woman describes how her husband’s failure to pay the customary bride price prevented her parents from attending her wedding.

Only a few acquaintances, coworkers, and two of her siblings were present on her wedding day, according to a TikTok post made by the woman going by the handle @itsreallyorga.

She clarified that her parents’ absence was because they couldn’t agree on the bride price.

She claimed that although her parents vehemently disagreed, she was solely responsible for her husband’s refusal to pay the bride price.

She mentioned that her parents refused to attend the event in protest even after she explained her position.

“I just wish my parents were there for me. Especially having eight siblings and only three of them showing up on the biggest day of my life. I was emotionally hurt, but I tried my best to stay focused on my wedding. I cried a lot. I’ve learned that people only show up if they truly want to. A lot of people will congratulate you online, but won’t show up in person. Still, I genuinely appreciate every congratulations and all the support even from people I don’t know.”
