The Anambra State Police Command has called on members of the public to remain calm following the circulation of a disturbing viral video showing two young women physically assaulting another girl in Umueri.

In a statement released, the command’s spokesperson, SP TOchukwu Ikenga, confirmed the arrest of one of the suspects, Chidimma Ogugua, aged 19, and stated that she is currently in Police custody, while efforts have been intensified to apprehend the other fleeing suspect.

Ikenga mentioned that preliminary investigations reveal that the victim was subjected to physical abuse following a disagreement. The Command strongly condemns the act, describing it as cruel, inhuman, and a clear violation of the law.

The Command further urged anyone with useful information that could aid the ongoing investigation or lead to the arrest of the fleeing suspect to come forward, assuring that such information will be treated with utmost confidentiality.
