Old prophecy resurfaces after Anthony Joshua accident, sparking online reactions

Following reports of a road accident involving British-Nigerian boxing star Anthony Joshua in Ogun State, an old prophecy about a boxer losing loved ones has reappeared online.

After a video reappeared on TikTok, the prophecy—which was shared two months ago by a prophetess going by the name BrightTheSeer—recently attracted attention.

The prophetess discussed a boxer and the d£•th of loved ones in the video, but she did not give a name.

Some social media users have connected the prophecy to the recent incident. Since then, the resurfaced video has been extensively shared on social media, eliciting a range of responses.

Some users dismissed the connection as coincidental and unduly speculative, while others thought the prophecy predicted the tragic event.

The 36-year-old boxer was involved in a reported road accident on Monday on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State, which sparked the renewed conversation.

Anthony Joshua reportedly suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment, while two members of his entourage were confirmed d£•d.

Reactions on the internet have been mixed. While some users warned against drawing conclusions between prophecies and actual tragedies without sufficient evidence, others expressed fear and concern over spiritual interpretations.

One commenter wrote, “Does this mean negative prophecies can’t be averted? God, please.” Another added, “Life is spiritual, more grace and anointing.”

Others, however, called for calm, encouraging people to avoid superstition and panic while allowing authorities to properly investigate the incident.

As conversations continue online, many Nigerians are reminding the public to focus on prayers for the victims and their families, while separating spiritual beliefs from confirmed facts surrounding the accident.
