Odumeje sparks reactions with comments on insecurity and silent religious leaders

Popular cleric Chukwuemeka Odumeje, widely known as Pastor Odumeje, has sparked reactions online after speaking about insecurity in Nigeria and the role of religious leaders in addressing national issues.

Speaking during a church sermon, the controversial preacher urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and take responsibility for their safety, both physically and spiritually, amid ongoing security challenges across the country.

“As a Nigerian, you need to guide yourself physically and spiritually. I see baπdits and terr0rists freely carrying guπs and looking for people to k!ll,” he said.

Odumeje expressed concern over the increasing cases of vi0lence and insecurity, stressing that citizens should not ignore the realities confronting the nation.

The cleric also criticized pastors who remain silent about the country’s challenges, arguing that religious leaders have a duty to speak on issues affecting their members and society at large.

“If your church and pastor are not talking about what is happening in Nigeria, then that pastor is an an!mal,” he stated.

His comments have generated mixed reactions online, with some Nigerians agreeing that faith leaders should be more vocal about national issues, while others felt his choice of words was too harsh.

The remarks have further fueled discussions about insecurity in Nigeria and the responsibility of religious leaders to address societal concerns and advocate for their congregations.
