According to a report by The Punch on Monday, August 3, 2026, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has issued fresh guidelines for prospective corps members preparing for the upcoming orientation camp exercise, outlining key registration rules and safety measures.

In an official public notice released on Monday via its X (formerly Twitter) page, management strongly advised prospective corps members to prioritize their personal safety when traveling to their assigned orientation camps across the country.

“Prospective Corps Members are advised not to travel at night to the orientation camp,” the NYSC stated.

Management also sent a firm warning regarding documentation, declaring that individuals with conflicting details on their academic credentials will face immediate disqualification from camp registration.

“Prospective Corps Members with discrepancies in the date of graduation on their call-up letters and the date on their statement of results will not be registered in the orientation camp,” the scheme warned.

To prevent registration failure at the camp gates, the scheme directed affected candidates to resolve any discrepancies with their respective Student Affairs Officers (SAOs) prior to departure.

Additionally, candidates were reminded to complete and print out their mandatory registration forms online, ensuring they sign and submit physical copies during camp screening.

For candidates requiring age corrections, the scheme outlined an official online process using a 19- or 20-digit WAEC Verification PIN via their individual NYSC dashboards.

Applicants must navigate to the designated link, provide their exam numbers and details, and submit the request for verification.

Management urged strict adherence to all instructions to ensure a smooth, hassle-free registration exercise.
