Wendy Achumba, the nursing student who was reportedly found d3ad with her throat slit in Imo State, has now been identified.

The victim was said to be a student of the College of Nursing Umuadara Umulogho and was allegedly discovered dead on Thursday, May 21, inside her off-campus lodge located in Umulogho, within Obowo Local Government Area.

According to reports, neighbours became concerned after she neither came out of her room nor responded to repeated calls. After several unsuccessful attempts to reach her, they reportedly forced the door open and discovered her lifeless body with severe injuries to her neck.

A source told Punch that the room was still locked from inside with the key, while the victim’s mobile phone was reportedly missing from the scene.

Community sources said Wendy, who hailed from Abia State, had already completed her midwifery programme and was undergoing post-basic training at the institution.

Confirming the incident, police spokesperson Henry Okoye stated that the Imo State Police Command had commenced investigations into the k!lling.
