A Nigerian woman, Sherifah Obansa, has shared how her engagement reportedly ended after an incident involving food during a visit to her fiancé’s family home.

Sherifah recounted that while visiting his family, she ate all the food served to her by his mother and even loosened her clothing to make herself more comfortable after the meal.

She revealed that her fiancé subsequently stopped communicating with , a situation she believes was linked to what happened during the visit.

The woman shared the experience while responding to an online discussion started by a social media user identified as Papshine, who asked whherether finishing all the food served by prospective in-laws is considered poor etiquette.

Her story quickly sparked reactions online, with social media users debating cultural expectations, dining etiquette, and whether a person’s appetite should influence how they are perceived in a relationship.
