Newlywed woman remanded in Kano for allegedly k!lling her husband after he refused to let her attend a party

A Magistrates’ Court sitting in Kano State has remanded a newlywed woman, Khadija Sa’idu, in a correctional facility over an alleged culpable h0micide case following the d3ath of her husband, Malam Auwal Adam.

The court, presided over by Magistrate Haulatu Magaji Kankarofi, ordered that Khadija be remanded after police arraigned her over allegations that she att@cked her husband at their residence.

According to the prosecution, the suspect allegedly st@bbed her husband in the chest and neck following a disagreement over her request to attend a social gathering.

Khadija, a resident of Hayin Lawal, Rimin Kebe, in Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State, was reportedly involved in an argument with her husband after she sought permission to attend a party.

The prosecution alleged that Auwal refused to grant her permission, after which the disagreement reportedly escalated.

According to the facts presented before the court, Khadija allegedly st@bbed her husband in the chest while he was asleep on a couch.

Auwal was reportedly rushed to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital for treatment, where doctors allegedly confirmed his d3ath from injuries sustained during the incident.

During Thursday’s proceedings, the prosecutor informed the court that the case file was awaiting legal advice from the state counsel to determine the next course of action.

The court subsequently adjourned the matter until September 8 for further mention.
