A video showing Nigerian Navy personnel catching an unusual-looking fish while working at sea has sparked reactions on social media.

In the footage, the personnel are seen with the strange-looking fish after catching it during their work offshore.

The appearance of the fish left some Nigerians puzzled, with several users joking that it looked like a creature from a mythical world.

One user identified the fish as a mahi-mahi, also known as the common dolphinfish, while another claimed that the species is known as “Panla” among the Ilaje people.

Others were more cautious, warning the Navy personnel against touching or eating the fish before confirming what species it was and whether it was safe.
