“My 20 years of hard work is being damaged over viral ‘everlasting bread’ video” – Bon Bread CEO cries out

Maria Umeagwukadilo, Bon Bread’s CEO and founder, has broken her silence amid the ongoing controversy over a popular TikTok video that purportedly questioned the safety of her company’s bread goods for two months.

She expressed concern about the video’s influence on her brand, claiming that a brief social media clip was undermining years of hard work.

In a now-viral video, the CEO stated she created Bon Bread in 2006 and has spent the last two decades growing the firm from a modest operation to a major corporation that employs dozens of people and indirectly supports many more.

She said: “It pains me that after putting in 20 years of hard work, somebody on social media with a two-minute clip will cause so much damage.”

She added that the company began during a difficult period in her life and has developed over time through persistent effort and dedication to quality.

Umeagwukadilo asserted that Bon Bread follows strict food safety requirements and meets the standards set by relevant organizations, including NAFDAC.

She also mentioned that the organization has a production plan based on daily orders to assure freshness.

“From day one I have always ensured that my products meet the standard recommended by regulatory bodies. We produce bread daily based on orders,” she said.

The debate erupted after a TikTok member submitted a video claiming that a loaf of bread remained fresh for around two months. The tweet generated a heated debate online, with many users relating the allegation to Bon Bread.

The CEO stated that she originally rejected the video but eventually took action after receiving numerous calls from distributors and associates.

She also stated plans to provide documents supporting her company’s standards, such as governmental approvals and laboratory tests.

The CEO also urged customers and the broader public to continue supporting the brand while the issue is being resolved.

She expressed confidence that the truth would finally be revealed and thanked devoted customers for their ongoing support.

“We will get to the end of this matter and we will see the truth from the lies,” she said.
