A Nigerian mother has reportedly lost her four-year-old twin sons after the children allegedly ate bread containing rat po!son that had been placed in their home to get rid of rats.

The heartbreaking incident was shared online by businesswoman Chioma Ifeanyi-Eze, who said the woman is her mother’s cleaner.

Twin brothers reportedly ate poisoned bread

According to Ifeanyi-Eze, the mother had placed rat po!son on bread and left it in a hidden area of the house, apparently as bait for rats.

She said one of the twins found the bread, ate some of it and gave it to his brother.

Both children reportedly died after consuming the po!soned bread.

Ifeanyi-Eze wrote on Facebook:

“The woman who cleans my mum’s house lost her set of 4-year old twin boys.

“She put rat po!son on bread and dropped on the floor in a hidden area. One of the twin found the bread, ate and give his brother. Both, passed.

“My mum is so sad.

“The woman is such a dedicated worker. She had 5 kids, 2 gone in one day. Ah! Dear Lord.”

Family left devastated

The tragic incident has reportedly left the family devastated, with the mother losing two of her five children in the same incident.

The account has also sparked concerns about the dangers of using poisonous substances as household pest control, particularly when they are placed where children may unknowingly find them.
