Shank Comics, a Nigerian content maker and comedian, has sparked debate online by exposing his thoughts on love, commitment, and adultery in partnerships.
The comedian, real name Adedeji Adesokan, made the comments during a recent interview about what he feels motivates certain men in sexual relationships.
According to him, a man can truly love his partner while also indulging in relationships outside of that commitment.
His statements have elicited a mixed response on social media, with many users arguing whether love and infidelity can coexist.
During the conversation, Shank stated that he feels many guys can separate their emotions from their deeds.
“I feel like men can multitask. They can love you and still cheat on you. I think they love you enough not to… I don’t think the cheating is trying to hurt you; you get me? But you get hurt in the process”
The comic stated that, while adultery is not always intended to create harm, emotional effects frequently occur.
Shank realised that his reasoning may not be understandable to everyone as he continued to clarify his perspective.
“The more I try to explain this, the more I’m sounding crazy… But yeah, the truth is that men can love you and still like cheating,” he stated.
The words instantly gained notice online, with some agreeing that feelings and deeds do not always coincide, while others strongly disagreed with the comedian’s viewpoint.
The issue has fuelled ongoing debates about trust, loyalty, and commitment in modern relationships, with many social media users holding opposing views on whether genuine love can coexist with infidelity.
