Manchester United captain, Bruno Fernandes hacked on X after FA Cup exit

Following the hacking of club captain Bruno Fernandes’ X account, Manchester United was compelled to release a statement.

Following their FA Cup third-round loss to Brighton, the Red Devils captain’s page was compromised.

The midfielder’s account saw a series of posts shortly after 11 p.m. on Sunday.

“Join Macclesfield FC” was the first of the strange posts made by hackers. “Excited for the future,” in reference to the National League North team that defeated FA Cup winners Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The club owners were the target of another post that seemed to demand their dismissal. “Let’s get rid of Ineos,” the post said.”

Further messages tagged adult star Bonnie Blue, and then the England cricket team, before YouTuber KSI and world darts champion Luke Littler were messaged.

In one of the final posts, the account posted an image of United’s 7-0 loss to Liverpool from 2023.

United issued a statement urging fans not to interact with it until further notice.

It read: “Bruno Fernandes’ X account has been hacked.

“Supporters should not engage with any of the posts or direct messages.”
