A man who says he knew the late Nigerian Afrofuji musician Afeez Adeshina, also known as Destiny Boy, has caused controversy on the internet by claiming that babalawos’ money rituals were connected to the singer’s premature demise. The man said in a social media post that Destiny Boy’s death was due to spiritual activities the singer was too young to manage rather than being an accident. He claimed to have known Destiny Boy long before the singer became well-known, and he was ready to offer evidence to support his statements.

According to him, babalawos often perform rituals for young people without explaining the potential consequences. This, he said, leaves them exposed to spiritual and physical risks they cannot manage.
