A user on has shared a detailed account of how his relationship ended despite years of financial and emotional investment.

According to him, he met the woman while she was working at a salon and struggling to continue her education. He said he stepped in to support her by paying her tuition for four semesters, buying her a laptop, and covering other academic expenses.

He added that his support extended beyond her, as he also assisted her family—funding her brothers’ needs and settling hospital bills for her mother.

In addition, he rented an apartment for her, paid two years’ rent upfront, provided a monthly allowance, and covered various lifestyle expenses, including gadgets and trips. He explained that he saw these efforts as part of building a future together and had even introduced her to his family as someone he intended to marry.

However, things reportedly changed during a six-week business trip. He claimed that upon returning unannounced, he found her in the apartment with another man he had previously known as her “course mate.”

When confronted, he said she told him he did not own her, regardless of everything he had done.

He stated that he immediately ended the relationship, cutting off all contact with her and her family.

Reflecting on the experience, he revealed he had spent approximately ₦6.7 million over three years, emphasizing that his actions were driven by love, not obligation.
