A Nigerian lady has sparked online reactions after sharing how her boyfriend returned the ₦500,000 she spent months repaying, leaving her emotional with his unexpected gesture and heartfelt words.

The woman, who described the incident on social media, said that her boyfriend had previously given her a ₦500,000 loan with a five-month repayment deadline.

She maintained her commitment to the agreement, saying she regularly sent him ₦100,000 each month after getting paid.

She disclosed that her lover told her to call him right away after sending the last bill after she had successfully made payments for four months in a row.

However, she received an alert indicating that the whole ₦500,000 had been returned to her account shortly after transferring the final ₦100,000 and calling him as instructed.

In response, the boyfriend allegedly told her that the loan was never about the money, but rather about determining her sincerity and ability to keep her word.

“Well done my Queen. You see, babe… the money was never the issue. I could never collect that money back from you. I just wanted to see if you were truly a woman of your word,” he reportedly said.

“A lot of people make promises, but only a few actually keep them. You did… and that says a lot about you. You can keep the money. What mattered to me was your sincerity… and you’ve already shown me that.”

The touching story rapidly went viral online, with many social media users complimenting the partner for prioritising trust and honesty in the relationship.
