Nigerian winger Moses Simon could start the upcoming season under a different manager, with former Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior emerging as the top candidate to take over at Paris FC.

Despite Antoine Kombouaré’s 11th-place finish in the French first division after returning for the first time in more than 40 years, the French club is considering a managerial change.

Paris FC’s leadership is allegedly keen to pursue European qualifying and believes Rosenior is the best coach to guide the club’s next stage of development.

According to French source L’Équipe, Rosenior has already spoken with Paris FC about the role. The discussions forced the club to postpone the start of pre-season training.

Training was supposed to start on Wednesday, July 1, but the club has postponed players’ returns while negotiations for a new manager continue.

Rosenior, 41, is said to be the leading candidate to replace Kombouaré if the team decides to make a move.

A managerial change would signal the end of Simon and Kombouaré’s good working partnership.

The Super Eagles winger worked with the veteran coach at Nantes from 2021 to 2025 before rejoining Paris FC in 2026.

Simon has remained one of the club’s primary attacking players, and a new coach may take a different tactical approach as Paris FC seeks to establish itself in Ligue 1.

Rosenior has received plaudits for his coaching efforts in England and France, cementing his status as one of the game’s most promising young managers. His expertise includes the Premier League, English Football League, and French football.

If appointed, he would take over a Paris FC side looking to build on last season’s success and compete for a spot in European play.
