Kogi government bans okada operations and night travel in Bunu district

The Kogi State Government has announced a series of stringent security measures targeting cr!minal activities in parts of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area. The measures include a ban on commercial motorcycle operations in selected rural communities, market closures, restrictions on fuel sales, and a statewide ban on travel after 7:00 pm.

The directives took immediate effect and were announced on Saturday, June 13, in a statement issued by Kingsley Femi Fanwo.

According to the government, the actions followed ongoing security operations in the Bunu District after a recent terr0rist att@ck on the Iluke Community, which security forces reportedly repelled successfully.

The statement noted that intelligence and operational reports showed that joint security forces had recorded significant successes against the att@ckers, with several reportedly neutralized and others injured while remaining trapped in forested areas across the district.

To prevent suspected cr!minals from receiving supplies and logistical support while attempting to flee, the government imposed an immediate ban on commercial motorcycle operations along several routes within the Bunu District.
