A commercial tricycle rider has urged young Nigerians to vote sensibly in the 2027 election, pointing to growing fuel costs, rising educational costs, and the general financial struggles that families are facing.
The rider claimed that while gas prices have increased to over ₦1,400 per liter in some places, he currently spends ₦400,000 each term on his three children’s school fees.
According to recent reports, the price of gasoline in some parts of the country is between ₦1,400 and ₦1,500 per liter.
He claims that the financial strain has made it difficult for him to support his family, and he recently ate his first meal of the day at 5 p.m. as a result.
He claimed that he regularly encourages young Nigerians to consider their children’s futures when making political decisions by using social media.
“We are buying a litre of fuel for more than ₦1,400. I spend ₦400,000 every term on school fees for my three children. That’s why I’m always on social media, advising young Nigerians to vote wisely for the future of their children. Yesterday, I ate my first meal by 5pm because of the hardship. I don’t usually sleep at midnight; I keep thinking about what my children will eat,” he lamented.
The rider continued by endorsing Peter Obi, a politician by the Labor Party, calling him “our last hope” and exhorting Nigerians to hold fast in the 2027 election.
“Peter Obi is our last hope. Nigerians should be ready to stand their ground in the 2027 election.”
His remarks coincide with fresh worries about the growing price of gasoline and how it affects household and transportation costs.
According to recent reports, gasoline was selling for roughly ₦1,430 per liter in major cities, and higher fuel prices could make food, transportation, school fees, and other necessities even more expensive.
