A woman identified as Nancy Pexton has been found guilty of mu3dering her sister, filmmaker Jennifer Abbott Dauward, before allegedly stealing her Rolex watch.
Jurors delivered the verdict on Wednesday, April 29, following a three-week trial at the .
According to reports, Pexton, who was described as homeless at the time, allegedly attacked her sister at her apartment in , north London. Prosecutors said she bound Jennifer with gaffer tape, left her fatally injured, and fled the scene. The victim’s body was later discovered by a concerned relative three days afterward.
During the trial, Pexton chose not to testify and instead claimed that a drug dealer living in the apartment block was responsible for the k!lling. However, forensic investigators reportedly found her clothing heavily stained with her sister’s blood. Pexton attempted to explain the evidence by claiming she had hugged Jennifer while she was suffering a nosebleed.
Prosecutor William Boyce KC told the court that Pexton had spoken with her sister on the phone for about 15 minutes shortly before visiting her flat in Mornington Place on June 10 last year. She allegedly arrived carrying food from KFC and left roughly an hour later.
The court also heard that Pexton later contacted her doctor claiming she felt su?cidal and initially told investigators she had blacked out during the period in question before later denying any involvement in the a$$ault.
She is expected to be sentenced at a later date.
