Iran Suffers Heavy Blow as IDF Drops Over 100 Bombs, Destroying Key Weapons Factory in Isfahan

According to a report by Times of Israel, on Tuesday March 24, 2026, the Israeli Air Force has bombed Iran’s primary explosives production facility located in the Isfahan area, the Israel Defense Forces confirmed on Tuesday, describing the strike as part of a sweeping military campaign targeting the Islamic Republic’s core defense industries.

The IDF identified the targeted site as Iran’s “main” explosives manufacturing plant, used to produce explosive materials for a range of weapons systems. Military officials noted the facility had previously been struck during the June 2025 war between the two nations but had since been rebuilt after Iranian engineers worked in recent months to restore it to full operational capacity.

Tuesday’s operation was not limited to the explosives factory. According to the IDF, Israeli jets dropped over 120 bombs across dozens of Iranian targets in the Isfahan region alone. The strikes hit ballistic missile launch sites, weapon production facilities, and air defense systems, indicating a broad and coordinated effort to degrade Iran’s military infrastructure across multiple sectors simultaneously.

The IDF described the operation as targeting Iran’s “production industries,” suggesting Israeli military planners aimed to inflict structural damage on the country’s capacity to manufacture and deploy advanced weapons rather than targeting personnel or command centers.

Isfahan, located in central Iran, is home to several critical military and industrial installations. The region has been a repeated focus of Israeli operations, reflecting its strategic importance to Iran’s defense establishment. The fact that Iran had already worked to rebuild the bombed facility following the June 2025 conflict signals a prolonged and evolving confrontation between both nations over Iran’s weapons capabilities.

Israeli officials have not publicly commented on potential Iranian responses, though the scale of Tuesday’s strikes represents one of the most significant single-day operations against Iranian soil reported in recent months.
