An Iranian lady has gained widespread notice when a video of her speaking amid continuing explosions in Tehran, Iran’s capital, went viral.
The clip shared by @DahliaKurtz on X expresses her discontent with the current system and desire for change.
The footage comes amid a huge escalation in the Middle East, following US and Israeli bombings on Iran’s capital, Tehran.
Following the strikes, Iranian official media confirmed the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the country’s long-time leader.
Despite worldwide alarm, both sides have continued to fire and launch missiles at each other.
In the video, the woman identifies herself as an Iranian resident in Tehran.
She sends a strong message to worldwide viewers, urging them not to oppose the attacks on her country. According to her, many Iranians welcomed the intervention following years of tyranny.
She said: “I am an Iranian who lives in Tehran, and I can hear the sound of bombing outside. In case I’m dead tomorrow, I just want you to remember this. Please shut the fuck up and don’t use me against America or Israel to try to convince them to stop. We asked for this. We want this attack.”
The woman stated that regular Iranians had previously attempted peaceful protests against the government, but had been met with tremendous brutality.
“The reason is we had one option: to go and protest this bloody regime, and they killed 40 thousand of us in two days. This is the last option we have. We asked for this help. Help is here,” she stated.
She also discussed her personal dedication to the cause, emphasising her willingness to lose her life for her country’s freedom.
“I know I might die. I don’t care. I’m willing to sacrifice my life for Iran. So you shut up. Don’t use me to attack anyone or try to stop this. We want this. You understand? You’re not in our shoes. Shut the fuck up. This was a message from one of our Iranian sisters and she asked me to share this with you. So shut the fuck up. Yeah, if you don’t want to support us, just shut the fuck up.”
The video has subsequently gone viral, bringing international attention to the situation in Iran.
