Ijoba Lande accuses Nigerian police officers of theft, assault

Actor and Nigerian comedian Ganiyu Morufu, better known by his stage as Ijoba Lande, has accused Lagos State Police Command officers from the Area ‘J’ Division of assault, illegally taking his phone, and stealing $1,200 from his brother.

A video posted on his verified Facebook profile, @Ijoba Lande 1, that has now gone viral prompted the accusation.

As those around him tried to wash his face with water, the entertainer was shown in the video with obvious wounds around his eyes.

Additionally, the footage showed him attempting to file a complaint regarding the incident inside what looked to be a police station.

Ijoba Lande did not reveal the precise details or location of the alleged attack. He reportedly returned to Nigeria from the United Kingdom six days before to the event.

He claims that throughout the interaction, police officers physically assaulted him, took away his iPhone 16 Pro Max, and reportedly stole $1,200 in cash.

“I came back from the UK 6 days ago and was attacked and beaten by police in Nigeria. They collected my iPhone 16 Pro Max and my brother’s $1,200. I nearly lost my life,” he lamented.
