A Northern man has sparked outrage online after sending a powerful message following a recent explosion in Maiduguri, urging Nigerians to be more thoughtful in their voting choices ahead of the 2027 elections.

In a video posted on X (previously Twitter), he lambasted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s decisions and raised concern about security, particularly in the northern region.

“This is a message to all northerners, if you vote APC again, you guys are going to be the most stupid set of individuals I have ever come across in my life. A bomb blast just hit Maiduguri, and the first thing the president did was fly to the UK.”

He went on to compare prior leadership reactions, claiming that earlier administrations addressed citizens amid crises, while expressing unhappiness with the current situation.

The individual also took the opportunity to warn Nigerians from all locations to be cautious and intentional, particularly in light of security concerns.

“To my southern brothers, we need to be very careful and deliberate with our choices. And to my Muslim brothers, I advise staying cautious, avoid crowded mosques for now, because these are places that can be targeted,” he added.

The video elicited varied reactions online, with some supporting his security fears and others criticising his choice of words and political stance.
