Timaya, a Nigerian artist, has advised Nigerians to carefully consider their options when casting their ballots, cautioning that the results could result in four more years of hardship.
Speaking about the nation’s situation, the musician stated that Nigerians shouldn’t base their political decisions only on short-term personal gains.
“Nobody dey advise anybody. If na wetin you dey find to chop now put for your pocket, na your business. No be one day o. Na another 4 years of hardship. If you know what’s good, you have to vote right.”
Additionally, Timaya claimed that his international trips had shown him how some wealthy Nigerians and politicians live abroad, with some of them having families abroad while still serving as Nigeria’s leaders.
“I dey travel abroad dey see wetin dey happen na. Rich people dey abroad dey no dey stay for Nigeria, these politicians. Dey just dey work for Nigeria.”
The musician questioned how politicians, whose families and personal life are mostly overseas, could truly comprehend the hardships faced by Nigerians.
“God take any Politician wey go make Nigerians cry again.”
His comments come amid ongoing public discussions about governance, living conditions and the choices Nigerians may face in the next election cycle.
