“If i haven’t slept with her, i can’t take her seriously” — man sparks outrage with dating views

A man has sparked outrage on social media after publicly discussing his thoughts on relationships, declaring that he only takes a lady seriously after having sex with her.

In a now-viral essay, the man claimed that his initial attraction to women is based on sexual desire rather than emotional connection.

I only start loving and taking a woman seriously after sleeping with her. Until then, it’s just lust speaking through me,” he said.

He also stated that he prefers intimacy to occur early in the relationship, typically within the first two weeks of meeting. According to him, avoiding such intimacy reduces his desire to engage in deeper conversations or emotional connections.

The man went on to say that he struggles to generate significant feelings in the absence of physical closeness.

If I haven’t seen you naked, I can’t develop feelings for you beyond ‘hello’ and ‘how was your day,’” he said, suggesting that prolonged delays often signal a lack of seriousness to him.

He also stated that he tends to withdraw communication when he believes a woman is purposely delaying intimacy in order to achieve commitment.

The comments sparked extensive debate, with some social media users condemning his ideas as transactional and disdainful of emotional attachment, while others maintained that people have the right to their own relationship preferences.

As conversations evolve in the digital age, the debate has once again revealed disparities in young Nigerians’ expectations of dating, intimacy, and commitment.
